ohk... maybe not such a friendly idea at the end of the day. But I have black tips on my nails and they look nice enough and I am now more motivated to type out my assignment with pretty nails.
I think I stooped to a whole new low.
Least I'm starting on my assignments right?
Time to bring out big coats and bathrobes. It's cold again.

Surprise surprise!
It feels like I am already mid way through the semester. But really, it's just 4th week. I am currently working on a Progress Report for Corporate Internship, not tough but long. One of those assignments.
Well I face a dilemma. To go to Melbourne or not. I know I was quite decided on visiting C and S but when I had that in mind, I neglected the fact that Alvin might want to join. -_-" Shame on me.
I will give myself till Friday to think about it and then I will have to come up with a decision. Truth be told, I have not worked enough to save for a trip to Melbourne, perhaps that is why I am having second thoughts. Grrrrr....
Thanks for all the encouraging messages. My internship placement is quite exciting. But my biggest fear is to not be able to produce what is expected at the end of the semester.
Well that all aside, I was very excited when we had a cold front 2 weeks ago and when dried leaves crunched and crackled under my feet as I walk down the sidewalk but what is with the 29 degrees high heat. It is autumn. Clearly from the withered dried leaves all over. Imagine the disappointment when I had to hang up and store this baby.
Well, on the brighter side of things, least I had a chance to wear that cute skirt I got of S. hehehe
love to all. I MISS YOU TOO JOYCE!!! Hope all is well.

Into week three of uni.
So far so good. If you have not heard the good news, here it is; I was successful in that interview I was so nervous about. So I'm currently interning for a gov't organization called Skills Tasmania and I will be working on a project with them for 1 semester. It's a 1 day per week gig, Normal working hours, 9-5. So yea, quite excited about that. For sure, I'll have work cut out for me. I already feel slightly overwhelmed.
I'm taking another core econs and another elective, which I chose to do first year accounting. I decided would be beneficial to know some basic accounting. Pretty much need accounting wherever you go nowadays.
Weekly quizzes start this week. I started working again at the same Thai restaurant. yay. It's nice to be interacting with strangers again. I still find it rewarding (somewhat).
This year, I'm on the MASCA committee. That's like a group that deals with the Malaysian Student Department and we receive funds on behalf of the Malaysian societies state-wide. Last year we went to this National Conference and Games in Sydney. This year it would be in Canberra. So we will be busy raising funds, etc for that. Tassie does not have a strong Malaysian Student Society so we'll be pushing for more involved members and perhaps make some changes to how things are done. Aspire to how MASCA committees and individual Malaysian Societies mainland do things.
And this middle of this year (fingers crossed), I'm graduating. I'll be a bridesmaid in June (fingers crossed again that Finals don't fall on the same day). I will be busy as applying for residency and job search. This is going to be exciting! So many things to look forward to.
Oh yes... well, we don't have a lot of eatery options here in Hobart and this small Korean restaurant is my fav place to go and they serve yummy Bibimbap. A week or so ago, I attempted my very own bibimbap and I won't say it was excellent but it was not half bad. :D Today for lunch, Alvin and I made Kimchi Jigae and it was delish!! If my internet was not being an ass I would upload photos.
Anyway, just a quick update. Gonna be a busy year but so excited! Pray I'll follow and stick to the path laid out for me.

Back in the land down under.
AKA home number 3.
First meal in Hobart. Dol-suk bibimbap. (www.maagchi.com this gem of a site that I found.)
Second thing; I have been wanting to do this since last year. Project Red Corvette accomplished. : D (inappropriate glass heh.)

Just want to share one thing tonight. I'm in another relationship. With God. I love it.
Thought the world wide web should know.
I guess Christmas spirit is lingering....

Merry Christmas.
I feel so excited. This has been the best year ever! 2009 ftw. -_-
Ahhhhh when the time is right, I will make it known. But for now, I'm just going to scream with childish excitement by myself.
wahhahaha
I think I might have a winner Saturday planned. Again, so excited. :))

Recap of the past week.
Just in case you forgot how I look like. And it has been cold the past few days. Hence the coat.
Anyway, I
Planned a surprise birthday for a good friend and twas a success.
Went for another birthday supper a week later. Hhaha steamboat at 11pm till late. zzzzz
Witnessed a proposal of said good friend by birthday boy of birthday supper.
Got asked to be bridesmaid. ♥ ♥ ♥
Played and finished a game called Castle Crashers on Xbox Live in one sitting.
Slept really late and saw sunlight through the curtains for the past week.
Thus, waking up pass noon.
Started packing... putting away winter clothes and putting aside clothes to be given away.
Realized I can't part with my clothes...
Found silverfish weaving through clothes in the to be given away pile. fml.
Worked at the restaurant.
Gotten my results. :))
Went for a very nice/posh dinner at Maldinis at Salamanca. Tasted (arguably) the best food in town. Had steakgasm.
OMGOMGOMG :))
Had the best semi-freddo there... oh dark chocolated and kahlua topping. I would marry you. (Can you believe it, a guy actually married a game character?)
------------------------------
I am flying Thursday. Reaching Melbourne Tullamarine airport 11+ am. Flight to M'sia is 3+ pm reaching around 8+ pm.
Can't wait.
My mom suggested I work at Kumon center. Why there? I have no idea. Wait... someones daughter worked there.
-_-
I cannot wait to go back.
I was thinking. Who do I still know and keep in contact in Malaysia... And I started naming people and counting. I did not even reach... 7. Zzzzzz!
Sad case. Damn. I have not been very good huh?

What's good people?
I fell asleep watching Alvin play Fifa 10 yesterday night. That was about 3 in the morning. I woke up pass noon. How I have missed sleeping in. But I think I should get back to waking up around 9-10. We made "spring rolls" for lunch. It was yums. Watched the new season of House. I dare say episode 1 and 2 is brilliant. I liked it a lot.
I have been going through my hard drive that stores all of my music. While going through them, I realized that I deleted most of my "emo" music. Quotations because they are not emo music. Just heavily misunderstood. Anyhow, I kept the good ones and played through them. How I missed them. Angels & Airwaves, The Exies, The Early November, Dashboard Confessional, Funeral for a Friend, Hawthorne Heights, Something Corporate, Plain White Ts, Taking Back Sunday and Bloc Party. Oh and Death Cab for Cutie ♥ .
I rediscovered my loud music phase. If that makes any sense at all.
Recently, I found out about Empire of the Sun and Wolfmother. Good stuff. Movie later tonight. I have been having cravings for beer. Just the chilled bottle in my hands, cold and crisp liquid down my throat. Nice. Maybe because it has been quite hot out.
I have a bottle of Frangelico sitting in the living room collecting dust. Tragic. I have been wanting to make Red Corvette. Awesome cocktaill of Frangelico, Midori and strawberries. Yums. Problem is, I don't own a blender. -_-"
Anyone fancies Frangelico and knows a good drink that does not require a blender?
I have to apply for IELTS. zzzz
I am so pumped about flying back to Malaysia. I think I'm going to be working part time. If only Starbucks would hire me. I'd offer my limited barista skills for free. I think I want to become a barista when I am at the point in my life where I can afford to do my hobby as a job. (that came out so wrong? -_-)

I can't take it anymore.
I'm giving myself a pedicure right now! I have such ugly feet and toes. Gross.
I can't wait for tomorrow. BBQ over at friends' and I can play with dogs! YAY! I miss having dogs... playing with one... Dogs are such joy. :)
You ladies must be all done with finals. Yay to us for putting in such effort all the way to the end. :)
Ciao.

Gar...
I don't know what to do. Should I apologize for what I said? My housemates occasionally take long showers. Seriously. I'm a girl and I don't even take 40 minute showers. Anyway, there wasn't any hot water and I had to take a really cold shower. Usually, I'd be able to tolerate it but I took a few moments and marched up to them and told them off.
Now I feel bad. Should I be? It is so frustrating.
Sigh...

Yipeekiyay!
Phew. Finals are over. My last paper on Thursday was drama filled. I woke up nauseous. Sick to the gut. I had to do last minute reviewing for the 1pm paper and so I did. I was starving. I had lunch around 11ish I still felt sick. I finally got around to wash up, etc and around 12:15. It all came out. Lunch and all. -_- I didn't think I was going to make it for my exam. And I can't afford a supplementary paper. I'm not flying back here. Anyway. I felt much better and finally went for my exam.
Alvin thought it was probably a minor panic attack or stressed induced. I don't know. I had not have one before and I was not THAT stressed out. In any case. I was terrified I was not going to make it for my exam. BUT, now that it's all over and done with. So glad!
At the beginning of study week, I aimed at a high credit perhaps a distinction. Now. Perhaps a high pass? Sigh. Such is life. Whatever amount of effort and preparation does not seem to cut it.
Anyway. Alvin still has one last paper tomorrow. He's been such a good man. Fighting through it. Really proud of him. After Monday. I plan to have a dinner with my housemates at Bar Celona. (Only the best bar/food ever! And food is cheap too.) Perhaps a much needed celebratory bottle of sparkling.
I have not been working during exam period and going back to work over the weekend has been amazing! Friday. I made this old couple really happy. One really regular customer I have not seen for a long time remembered me and had a nice "catching up" chat. I have no idea why these little things I experience at work give me such joy. One other really regular take away customer. I was on the phone with her and she told me her name and I just said something like , "Oh yes." And she said, "You remember us?" In an elated tone of voice. Kinda makes me feel I made her night that much nicer. Either that or she must be terrified and thought I was a stalker. -_-
I'm going to miss working when I go back to Malaysia. Which would be on the 3rd Dec. But I cannot wait to fly back. It is going to be legendary!
Btw. I woke up this morning feeling 24 degrees radiating through the windows. Save me.

Inappropriately wonderful!
I have to share this. New or old song, I have no idea. So catchy. Yes, a little inappropriate but if it's towards racists, it is brilliant!

Courtesy.
When it comes to courtesy... there are various kinds. When talking to a friend, stranger, in the service industry, etc.
Verdict: I called two and both recruited. One, I have to send in my application. Hmmm...
What now? Does banks take interns? I have been googling for NGOs. None in Ipoh?
Especially in the service industry. Courtesy is more of an expectation rather than an extra quality that we would like you to have. Anyway, I expect some kind of courtesy. Politeness if you like.
So what got me to talk about this. Well, I have a list of phone numbers to call. In many ways, they are part of the service industry. But at first glance, for my purpose, probably not so much. In any case. Whoever it was who picks up the call on the end of a reputable and highly regarded company should at least have some sort of phone courtesy.
Don't just say Hello mister. On my end, I would be wondering, did I get the right number. Is this one of the BIG FOUR? I state my name and presented my enquires. Silence on the other end. And I was passed on to another lady without a word. Ok. Shocked? Amazed? I was surprised? I can't put a finger on it. Again I state my name and presented my enquires. Flustered. We're having lunch now. Please call later. Sounded like a sweet lady. But lady. I finished my lunch 3 hours ago. When do you?
Is this one of the BIG FOUR? Certainly does not sound like it. Maybe because I was only looking for a lowly internship position. But perhaps I could have reeled in a major client in for you BIG FOUR! Now why would I want to do that for you now?
I think disappointment would be an understatement. I know I can't complain when I am looking for something from them. But still. Is this a Malaysian culture? Were my expectations wrongly placed?
All judgement aside. I will call again after lunch.
Sigh.
Then again I know that most of the companies I'm looking only have departments I have no relation to. Perhaps not as beneficial as I would have hoped.
Hmmm...

♥
It's 1:11am. I was on the phone with my mom. I love my parents to bits. Thinking back, I'd reluctantly admit that I have (on countless occasions) been terrible to my parents. How could I have? I was telling my mom stories of Alvin and I and I feel I've made him so much part of my family. Maybe I should reword that. I take Alvin as family. He's so much part of me too.
My high school teacher from Penang posted a note on Facebook. It's an eulogy to his late dad. It was beautiful. It reminded me to celebrate life. Especially our parents. I guess you get so consumed. I know at some point in our lives, we would be consumed, if not already by worldly things and forget about our parents. I hope I would not be part of that. Let's not take part.
Celebrate life.
ps: I sat for my finance paper this afternoon. Oh God, please let my lecturer be a compassionate grader since he was not too compassionate writing the paper.
